How to Use Hemp Oil

There are over a dozen forms of CBD oil out there, and not all of them are used the same way. If you find yourself unsure how to take your CBD product, this guide covers specific instructions for many of the different forms of CBD.

Before we get started, it’s worth noting that there’s no “best way” to take CBD oil. In the end, the right CBD product for you is the one that you’ll use; and the amount of CBD you should take may vary.

Tinctures

have a dropper top for easy dispensing, but you can also find spray tops.

Tinctures are very popular and for a good reason. They offer a unique opportunity for manufacturers to add other robust ingredients, such as coconut oil, terpenes, spearmint, and other natural herbs and essential oils. These additions help mask the pungent taste of natural hemp. The flavor of tinctures is typically more well-received than the pure CBD concentrates, which you’ll find in the next section.

How to use a CBD Hemp Oil Tincture

To take a CBD hemp oil tincture, fill the pipette by using the dropper top. Then, simply dispense the desired amount under your tongue. This is called “sublingual” use and is important if you want fast results, as the CBD absorbs into the capillaries under your tongue to get it into your bloodstream quicker.

With the oil under your tongue, wait at least 60 seconds and then swallow the oil. If you find the flavor is too potent, try drinking juice along with it.

Hemp oil tinctures come in a wide array of sizes, flavors, and strengths. Something to keep that in mind as you’re trying tinctures: if you don’t like a specific tincture, there are many options that may suit you better in terms of flavor and potency. If it is important for you not to taste the hemp oil, we suggest these tinctures as they are the best tasting we have ever tried.Shop our curated collection of CBD oil tinctures.

Concentrates

One of the most popular ways to take hemp derived CBD oil is a pure concentrate. This is a paste-like oil that’s extracted right from the hemp plant; no other ingredients are added.

When you order a pure hemp oil concentrate, it will likely be packaged in an oral syringe. If you’re not expecting that, it can come as a surprise. Your first thought may be, “is this an injection?!”

Don’t worry, that’s not the case.

How to Use Pure CBD Hemp Oil Concentrates

To take this pure oil, simply dispense the desired amount on the back of a spoon, on your finger, or directly under your tongue. A typical serving size is about the size of a grain of rice.

Make sure you are cautious in this step. CBD oil concentrates are natural oils, so each harvest will vary in flavor and consistency. Sometimes the concentrate is a thick oil, whereas other batches will be a little runnier. This is completely normal and to be expected. Just be careful not to let it touch your new white t-shirt or dress.

Now, place the oil under your tongue. Wait 60-90 seconds (the longer, the better) and then swallow.

There’s no one-size-fits-all method for dispensing CBD hemp oil and natural products, but the Made By Hemp team finds the above options to be easiest.

Tips for Using Concentrates

There are a few important matters to discuss regarding CBD hemp oil concentrates. First, it’s important to place the oil under your tongue because the mouth consists of capillary glands that absorb the oil. This CBD method allows the CBD to enter your system quickly. By the time you swallow the oil, a significant amount of CBD will have already been absorbed.

Secondly, keep in mind that pure hemp oil does not taste good to many. Each harvest renders slightly different flavors because the flavor and aroma come from compounds within the hemp plant called terpenes. Just like cannabinoids, you don’t know exactly which terpenes have developed in the plant until the oil has been extracted and tested. This makes it difficult to guarantee how each batch will taste.

CBD hemp oil, in concentrate form, tastes like you grabbed a handful of dirt and grass and ate it. Sometimes it’s a little spicy, too.

Sublingual application of hemp oil is convenient because you don’t have to taste the oil until your 60-90 seconds are up. We believe pure hemp oil concentrates are the best way to add a large number of cannabinoids to your daily regimen. If you’re sensitive to the taste but are determined to use hemp oil, try drinking juice as you swallow the oil.

Recently, the team here at Made By Hemp had a taste testing party with our Gold Label Concentrate. The expressions on people’s faces were rather amusing. In the end, we discovered something important: apple cider and orange juice seem to do the best job of masking hemp’s potent flavor.

Vapes

Vaping is the natural choice for people who already like to vape or smoke, but it’s not limited to experienced users. What makes vaping popular is its ability to get CBD into your system quicker than most other methods.

How to Use CBD Vape Oil Cartridges

CBD vape oil is a very straightforward way to take CBD. Your usage will depend on which type of vape product you purchase. If you buy vape oil, you will need to fill a vaporizer with the oil. Otherwise, you can buy a vape kit that includes a disposable vape cartridge which simply screws into the vaporizer. This option ultimately curtails the hassle of maintaining a vaporizer needing to be refilled with e-liquid. If you are using a re-usable vaporizer pen, keep in mind you will need to replace the tank and/or coil once in a while.

Vaping is a uniquely powerful way to take CBD because it is the fastest known way to get CBD into your system. Through vaping, cannabidiol directly enters your bloodstream through the lungs. The act of vaping is also relaxing for many due to the deep inhales and exhales.

When I’m feeling anxious or in serious need of relaxation, I immediately grab my vaporizer.

For dry, inflamed, or aging skin, people often try hemp oil topical solutions to target specific areas. Your skin is your largest organ, so it’s important to keep it moisturized and balanced. Hemp oil topicals, like the CBD Muscle Rub, make it easy to target the source of your skin problems. Using topicals is easy and straightforward; simply massage the product into the targeted skin area. Repeat as needed throughout the day. How to Use CBD Edibles
