Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of over 100 naturally occurring cannabinoids found in the hemp plant. Unlike THC, CBD is non-intoxicating, which means it does not produce a “high.”

CBD interacts with your body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS), a network of receptors that plays a role in regulating everyday functions like mood, sleep, appetite, and immune response. This system exists in every mammal, which is also why CBD products are popular for pets.

Since the passage of the 2018 Farm Bill, hemp-derived CBD products containing less than 0.3% delta-9 THC have been legal at the federal level. CBD is available in many forms including oils and tinctures, capsules, gummies, topicals, and products formulated specifically for dogs and cats.

At Made By Hemp, every CBD product we carry is third-party lab tested and comes with a Certificate of Analysis (COA) so you can verify exactly what is inside.

Due to FDA regulations, and the fact that we’re not doctors, we cannot make medical claims. The products sold from this website are considered nutritional supplements or personal care products, according to FDA guidelines.

Cannabinoids are naturally found in the industrial hemp plant which both promotes and supports nutritional health. Cannabinoids interact with our Endocannabinoid System, which consists of a series of receptors located in the brain, central nervous system, and many other areas. The ECS helps promote/regulate various important biological processes. Our bodies produce some cannabinoids (like anandamide) on their own.

Hemp is rich in non-intoxicating Phyto-cannabinoids. Marijuana is just the opposite; its top cannabinoid causes a “high.” Strains of industrial hemp are grown legally in dozens of countries worldwide and some US states. Hemp is sold in all US states.

Hemp-derived CBD products have been federally legal since the 2018 Farm Bill, which defined hemp as cannabis containing less than 0.3% delta-9 THC on a dry weight basis. Since then, CBD products have been widely available and shipped to most states across the country.

Federal changes ahead: The federal definition of hemp is being updated with new rules taking effect November 12, 2026. Key changes include a shift from delta-9 THC to a “total THC” standard (which includes THCA, delta-8, and other THC variants) along with new limits on THC content per finished product container. These changes may affect the availability of certain hemp-derived products nationwide.

State-by-state differences: While CBD is available in most states, regulations vary. A few examples:

  • Idaho requires that CBD products contain absolutely zero THC and be derived from specific parts of the hemp plant. Full-spectrum CBD products are not permitted in Idaho.
  • Colorado restricts hemp-derived intoxicating products to licensed marijuana dispensaries. Non-intoxicating CBD products are permitted, but shipping restrictions may apply.
  • Ohio enacted Senate Bill 56 banning intoxicating hemp products as of December 2025.
  • Tennessee passed House Bill 1376, which restricts direct-to-consumer hemp sales including online and delivery transactions.

Because of these differences, Made By Hemp currently does not ship to Colorado or Idaho. We encourage all customers to review their own state’s regulations before ordering.

Made By Hemp is committed to full compliance with federal and state law. We continuously review our product lineup and shipping policies as regulations evolve. All products include third-party lab results so you can verify exactly what you are purchasing.

One of the great properties of CBD is that it can be taken in a variety of different ways. From tinctures to edibles, vapes to gummies, there are many options. This can make deciding what to try much more difficult than it needs to be. To help along the process, we have made a comprehensive CBD Oil Buyer’s Guide to help you find the right product for you.

CBD is a cannabinoid that interacts with your body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS), a biological network involved in regulating mood, appetite, comfort, and memory. Because the ECS touches so many everyday functions, people incorporate CBD into their routines for a wide range of reasons.

We hear from customers who use CBD as part of their post-workout recovery, to support a sense of calm before a busy day, or simply as part of a daily wellness routine. Everyone’s experience is different, and results can vary based on factors like serving size, product type, and individual body chemistry.

We always recommend speaking with your healthcare provider before starting any new supplement, especially if you are taking medications or have a pre-existing health condition. Made By Hemp is here to help you find the right product, not to replace professional medical guidance.

Most drug tests in the workplace search for the intoxicating compound THC, not Cannabidiol (CBD) or other compounds found naturally in hemp.

With that being said, our CBD products have at most 0.3% THC content in them, making it extremely unlikely for it to result in a failed drug test. It can also depend on the kind of drug test that is administered, as some are more thorough than others.

If you prefer to avoid any THC-related concern entirely, we carry THC-free CBD options. Our Made By Hemp THC-Free CBD Oil contains non-detectable levels of THC and is available in strengths up to 1200mg.

Full spectrum CBD contains all naturally occurring cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids found in the hemp plant, including trace amounts of THC (less than 0.3%). Many people prefer full spectrum because of the “entourage effect,” where these compounds work together to support one another.

Broad spectrum CBD goes through additional processing to remove THC while keeping the other beneficial cannabinoids and terpenes intact. This is a good option for those who want the entourage effect without any THC.

CBD isolate is the purest form of CBD, containing 99%+ cannabidiol with no other cannabinoids, terpenes, or THC. Isolate is flavorless and odorless, making it versatile for mixing into foods or beverages.

Made By Hemp carries products in all three categories so you can choose what works best for your needs and preferences.

The right serving size depends on several factors including your body weight, the type of product you are using, and your individual body chemistry. Because everyone responds differently to CBD, we recommend starting with a low serving and gradually adjusting over time.

Most CBD products include a suggested serving size on the label. For tinctures, this is typically one full dropper (approximately 1mL). For gummies and capsules, one unit is usually one serving.

Keeping a simple journal of how you feel after each serving can help you find the amount that works best for you. As always, consult your healthcare provider for personalized guidance, especially if you take other supplements or medications.

A Certificate of Analysis (COA) is a lab report from an independent, third-party laboratory that verifies the contents of a CBD product. COAs confirm the cannabinoid profile (how much CBD, THC, and other cannabinoids are present), check for contaminants like pesticides, heavy metals, and residual solvents, and verify that the product matches what is stated on the label.

At Made By Hemp, every product we carry comes with a COA. You can view lab results on individual product pages or visit our Quality page to browse Certificates of Analysis. If a product does not have a publicly available COA, that is a red flag worth paying attention to.

CBD products are best stored in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and heat. A pantry, cabinet, or drawer works well for most products. Avoid leaving CBD oil in your car, near a window, or in humid environments like a bathroom.

Most CBD oils and tinctures have a shelf life of one to two years when stored properly. Gummies and edibles should be kept sealed in their original packaging. Topicals like salves and balms are best stored at room temperature.

Always check the expiration date on your products and look for any changes in color, texture, or smell as signs that a product may have degraded.

Yes, CBD products formulated specifically for pets are a popular choice among pet owners. Dogs, cats, and other mammals have an endocannabinoid system just like humans, which means their bodies can interact with CBD in a similar way.

It is important to use products made specifically for pets rather than sharing your own CBD oil. Pet-specific products are formulated with appropriate serving sizes and do not contain ingredients that may be harmful to animals (like certain essential oils or sweeteners).

Made By Hemp carries a variety of CBD products for pets including tinctures, treats, and chews. We recommend consulting your veterinarian before starting your pet on any new supplement.

The federal government is updating the legal definition of hemp, with new rules taking effect on November 12, 2026. The most significant changes include:

The THC standard is shifting from “delta-9 THC only” to “total THC,” which now includes THCA, delta-8, delta-10, and other THC variants. This closes a loophole that previously allowed certain intoxicating hemp products to be sold legally.

A new per-container limit of 0.4 milligrams of total THC applies to all finished hemp-derived products. This threshold is extremely low and may affect the availability of many products currently on the market, including some full spectrum CBD formulations.

Products containing synthetic or lab-manufactured cannabinoids will no longer qualify as hemp under federal law.

Made By Hemp is actively monitoring these changes and working to ensure our entire product lineup remains fully compliant. We will update our customers as the November 2026 deadline approaches and new guidance becomes available.
